From the passion of water and speed, Giovanni Cima, began his activity of production of motor boats for offshore and for pleasure boats in Gravedona, located on the western shore of Lake Como.

The passion for boating remained in the family and the baton has been passed to Iris who kept the desire for speed modifying its propulsion.

Iris, with Cima Boats, today pays special attention to the Ocean sail of the Class Mini 6.50


Cima Boats wants to bring innovative projects to the nautical market.

Born in 1974. Passionate about sailing, from windsurfing to racing boats, Iris Cima, dedicates himself to the restoration of his old pleasure boat, almost modifying its structural totality. Hence the idea of building a boat starting from the project up to the realization, with particular attention to every construction detail and materials to be used.

At the age of 3, he begins to sail with his father on the family boat. In 2006 he entered Class Mini Italia as coequipier of Andrea Pendibene during the preparation for the Mini Transat 2007. He began numerous collaborations in the most important classes: Class 40 and Mini 6.50. In 2009 he founded Skyron. Graduated in Industrial Design at La Sapienza University of Rome in 2010, he enrolled in the specialistic Naval and Nautical Design degree course at the University of Genoa.
In 2015 he took part in the Mini Transat project by Alberto Bona on Onlinesim ITA 756, a Manuard project.
In 2017, the new GRAND SOLEIL 34 was born from the Skyron project.
